Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion

Palmers Cocoa Butter Cream for Stretch Marks Reviews

Summary

Sometimes, there will be those products that promise a lot and end up delivering very little. For those that are dealing with the unsightly problem of stretch marks, products that claim the potential to eliminate discoloration and scarring and do no such thing can prove frustrating at best.

Such is the case with Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion for Stretch Marks, a product that falls very short of the mark in terms of its promises.

What It Is and What It Does

As the name implies, this is a cocoa butter based product that is intended to reduce stretch marks. This can be considered a dubious claim at best since cocoa butter is not known for possessing the potential to eliminate stretch marks. While cocoa butter can definitely help improve skin appearance, it is really not a solution for the severe issue of stubborn stretch marks.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Ingredients and How They Work

The application process of Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion for Stretch Marks is relatively simple. You would apply a very small amount of cocoa butter on the afflicted surface area of the skin. Gently rub it in and allow the process to begin. Well, at least that is the intention as there really is no process to speak of. This is not an effective topical solution.

Again, cocoa butter is the prime active ingredient and therein lies the problem – cocoa butter is not very helpful against stretch marks!

There are other ingredients found in the product. Namely, vitamin E which is definitely helpful for skin health but it is not concentrated in such a way here that it can deliver on expectations. There are better stacks out there with vitamin E well worth exploring instead. The same can be said for the very weak inclusion of collagen and elastin in the product’s ingredients. The derivatives of these skin components simply are too weak to be effectual. This is why – few results are provided from using the product.

Pros:

It can be very difficult to discuss the pros of a product that, ultimately, will not deliver on intended results. Yes, Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion for Stretch Marks is easy to apply to the skin. It can also be considered fairly reasonable in price as compared to other products on the market. It may (Emphasis on the word “may”) help prevent stretch marks but it is not going to do much for those marks that have already emerged.

Cons:

As previously mentioned, the main con with this product is that it does not work all that well. Some may be willing to try it out for themselves but beware – the scent of the solution is not all that appealing. In fact, it can be downright malodorous. Cocoa Butter has a tendency to be greasy which can be considered another negative as well. It also takes time to massage into the skin since the application has to be done thoroughly. There have also been reports on allergic reactions while using the product

Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion Side Effects:

This is not a product known for any serious side effects but it is important to point out that cocoa butter has been known to clog pores. That means you may end up with an acne outbreak depending upon how sensitive your skin is.

Verdict:

Cocoa butter has its benefits but the ability to reduce stretch marks would not fall under such a category. There are a number of much better products on the market. Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion for Stretch Marks is simply ineffective and rather hodgepodge in terms of its ingredients. So, if you want to avoid wasting your time and money, it would be best to skip this product.

I use this lotion and cream in the winter time and specially for my 6year old son who has the dryest skin ever…leaves your skin soft and my son actually loves the sweet smell but for stretchmarks is a really bad product.. i use the special cream for pregnancy and didnt do anything to help prevent stretch marks or to help reduce them afterwards…this is a everyday lotion that helps dry skin like any other do not expect anything else from it.
